How to become a CIIA holder
when no ACIIA member society exists in your region
If your country or region lacks an ACIIA member society, you can enrol and prepare through the ACIIA Learning Platform.
Checklist
- Contact ACIIA to be admitted to the CIIA.
- Accumulate at least one year of professional experience in financial analysis, portfolio management, or investment.
- Successfully pass the Foundation, Final and National exams.
- Become an Individual Member of ACIIA and sign the ACIIA Code of Ethics.

Frequently asked questions
CIIA holders have a much higher employment rate than the sector mean, since they have greater and more valuable skills, knowledge and legal backing in their applications.
What fees apply for the online pathway?
Fees are identical to those charged via national societies: exam fees + a reduced individual membership fee. A detailed table is available in the Information Booklet.
In which languages can I sit the exams?
All 11 CIIA languages are available online: Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
