CNMV, local regulator in Spain, recognises the CIIA qualification
The National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) of Spain has granted recognition to the Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA).
On25thOctober 25th 2017,the CNMV published the first list of certifications in compliance with the requirements included in the Technical Guide that the CNMV approved in June 2017, in accordance with the provisions of MiFID II, which will be mandatory in Spain from 3rdJanuary 2018. Some of the listed certifications enable the title holder to advise and inform and others only to carry out information work.
The CNMV list is composed of twenty certifications imparted by six educational organizations. The IEAF, member of ACIIA &EFFAS, stands out for being theorganization with the highest number of certifications recognised by the CNMV:
- Financial Services Advisor
- Financial Advisor
- Expert in Financial Counseling
- Asset Manager
- Certified European Financial Analyst (CEFA)
- Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA)
- Master in International Finance (MFI)
The inclusion of the Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA) in this first CNMV list awarded by ACIIA and promoted in Spain through the Spanish Institute of Financial Analysts (IEAF), endorsesthe title quality as international passport for financial professionals. To date, ACIIA has certified over 8.500 professionals since 2000.
