ACIIA Council Meeting / Annual General Meeting held Online

ACIIA held its online Council Meeting / Annual General Meeting on 23 June 2020 with 19 attendees. After the Securities Association of China (SAC) was forced to cancel their plan to host the physical meeting in Beijing, China, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Société Française des Analystes Financiers (SFAF) stepped forward and offered to host the meeting in Paris, France. However, the physical meeting was cancelled yet again as the outbreak became a pandemic, and most of Europe and the world were forced to go into lockdowns to prevent the further spread of COVID-19.

In addition to the usual topics in relation to the administrative aspects of the Association, there was a constructive discussion as to how to further promote CIIA across the world and to raise its profile. There was also a discussion as to how demand for educational offerings is changing, especially as a result of the pandemic. There was a consensus among the Council Members regarding the need to further digitalize the CIIA programme.
