"Bienvenido" to Argentina

First Brazil, now Argentina: With the recent cooption of the Instituto Argentino de Ejecutivos de Finanzas (IAEF,) ACIIA has another strong partner in South America. Who are the IAEF?

Below is a short introduction to the society. Since the severe crisis in 2001 which included the default of Argentina's sovereign debt, a very difficult and painful process has been underway to reconstruct fiscal credibility and increase productivity and output, including the restructuring of bank deposits and the reconstruction of the banking system. In the face of this crisis, IAEF decided to plan ahead and identified the opportunity to launch the CIIA program to support a new generation of highly qualified financial analysts, which will be part of the reconstruction process. This lead to the society taking out membership of ACIIA and implementing CIIA training in cooperation with the FEF, the CIIA training school in Spain.

The Argentine CIIA training course was designed following the Spanish experience. IAEF offers 400 hours of classes, beginning in March and ending in December. The academic team is formed by professionals who are renowned practitioners with outstanding backgrounds. They also have qualified audiences; the CIIA participants possess good academic records and professional skills.

  Association with a long tradition

IAEF has a long tradition: It was founded in 1967 and in June 1970 was established as a non-profit, civil association. Today it's made up of about 700 Chief Financial Officers, bankers, money managers, CEO´s, directors and high-ranking executives from the most important companies in Argentina.

The Institute is active in international associations and has close relationship to financial executive institutes all over the world. The IAEF develops a great number of training activities related to economics, finance, and business management through courses, seminars, conferences, local congresses, national and international conventions, and study trips to other countries.

  Broad range of activities

In 1989, the IAEF created its own Financial & Economic Research Department, which apart from carrying out pure and applied research on economics, issues a monthly report that serves as a reference source for professionals, students, and the financial and economic press. The IAEF has also published many technical works based on the studies performed by its Research & Investigation Committee, and has been publishing its monthly magazine Ejecutivos de Finanzas for 16 years.

With IAEF, the presence of CIIA will be further strengthened in South America. "We are very much looking forward to working with the IAEF for many years to come", ACIIA chairman Kiyoto Hagiwara said, when welcoming the new member at the June ACIIA Annual General Meeting in Tenerife.
