ACIIA
Council meeting and Seminar in Korea
|
| |
ACIIA council members and representatives
from 13 countries converged upon Korea
in mid-November for the ACIIA council
meeting in Seoul. Key discussion topics
at the meeting included a review of the
examination marking process and accreditation
of the CIIA by USA and UK authorities.
The warm welcome from the hosts, the Korea
Certified Investment Analysts Association
(KCIAA), made sure that the long journey
to Seoul was truly worthwhile. A steadily
increasing number of Korean candidates
have been participating in CIIA examinations
since 2002 and the meeting was a good
opportunity for the ACIIA executive and
the KCIAA to discuss the future development
of the CIIA in Korea.
The
seminar "International Capital Markets",
an event organized by the KCIAA, was well
attended by the local investment community.

The seminar was moderated by the ACIIA
Deputy Chairman, Jean-François Balmary,
from France, and included presentations
from ACIIA Chairman, Kiyoto Hagiwara (Japan),
Jean-Claude Dufournet (Switzerland), Gary
Cheung (Hong Kong) and Michael Theobald
(Great Britain) on a range of topics including
the challenges faced in European markets
and the current performance, trends and
opportunities in Hong Kong and mainland
China.
