The recent founding of the International Learning
Platform for Investment Professionals
ILPIP marks a significant step forward
for the training of CIIA candidates. Founded
by the ACIIA member organisations in China,
France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy,
Japan, Spain and Switzerland, the aim
of the platform is to cooperate on the
development of high quality CIIA training
manuals that can be used by all ACIIA
members world-wide.
While the development is significant, it is far from
unexpected. Since the introduction of
the CIIA in 2001, many ACIIA members have
cooperated on training issues. Those with
a common language have cooperated on translations,
others have developed common manuals for
training purposes and have organised joint
training seminars. Many have used the
English language version of the CIIA training
manuals created by the Swiss ACIIA member
SFAA.
The initiative to found a common platform for the development
of training materials - now called ILPIP
- came from a small group of ACIIA members
within EFFAS led by Dr Jean-Claude Dufournet.
The most prominent purpose was to aggregate
the investments of the member societies
in training and education, leading to
an improved financial strength compared
to the stand-alone activities of each
single member society.
The concept for the learning platform quickly found
resonance among the ACIIA members. From
the very beginning of ACIIA, the CIIA
examinations have been created by collating
questions from the members worldwide with
the most appropriate being selected for
inclusion.
