Meeting between the French and Japanese Societies
December 12th, 2002 in Tokyo
Mr Hagiwara, SAAJ's Executive Managing Director and ACIIA®'s Vice-Chairman; Mr Saburo Sano, Deputy General Manager; Mr Kazumichi Karita, Deputy General Manager; Mr Toshihiko Ishida, Advisor and ACIIA®'s Treasurer; and Mrs Miki Nomoto warmly welcomed Jean-François Balmary, SFAF's Secretary General and coordinator of the recently created ACIIA®'s Promotions and Marketing Commission, to Tokyo on December 12th 2002.
This type of bilateral meeting is of great interest to strengthen the links between ACIIA® Members and clearly favours the success of the CIIA® diploma in an increasingly competitive environment throughout the world.

IEAF Spain

Promoting the CIIA® in a new region

Throughout 2002, Gonzalo Milans del Bosch, Carlos Gascó and Jesús López Zaballos of the IEAF promoted the CIIA® in Mexico, Chile and Argentina. They met with representatives of regulatory authorities, the Securities and Exchange Commissions, and top executives of the main banks and listed companies. The CIIA® project was warmly welcomed in all three countries. Although Argentina has more urgent concerns right now, a CIIA® training project in connection with a private Business School or University is being planned, and the IEAF will serve as a vehicle for candidates until a local
association has been established. In Chile, conversations and meetings are taking place, discussing whether the development of an analysts’ society should be a public or private initiative. The two main Spanish banks in Chile are supporting the IEAF’s CIIA® development project. In Mexico, the AMIB (Mexican Securities and Exchange Commission) was very receptive to the idea of supporting the development of a national association that could offer the CIIA®. The IEAF and AMIB are continuing to discuss the possibilities for joint projects, and an AMIB representative, Mr Rodolfo Campuzano, attended the ACIIA® AGM in Rome 2002.
