N°1 Quarterly Newsletter - March 2003 -

Message from the coordinator of ACIIA®'s
Promotions and Marketing Commission

The ACIIA® Promotions and Marketing Commission was created by the ACIIA® Council during it’s meeting held in Rome on June 27th 2002. This commission consists of the following permanent members: Ronaldo Nogueira, ABAMEC (Brazil); Gonzalo Milans del Bosch, IEAF (Spain); N J Yasaswy, ICFAI (India) and Jean-François Balmary, SFAF (France). Temporary participants are also most welcome to enrich the discussions. The Commission has met on two occasions, in Paris on September 12th 2002 and in Rio de Janeiro on November 8th 2002. As co-ordinator of this commission, I am particularly pleased to present the ACIIA®’s first internal communication document.

This quarterly ACIIA® Newsletter aims to create a friendly and positive atmosphere within the ACIIA® and also to enhance the ACIIA®’s external development. I must add that this ACIIA® Newsletter will only have a true meaning if it benefits from regular contributions by all ACIIA® member societies. I am therefore counting on every member society to regularly bring forward any news which could be helpful for our association’s development. This Newsletter will be what we all choose to make it. I wish to thank each of you in advance for your future efforts in this regard and I am convinced these efforts will not be in vain.

Jean-François Balmary
Coordinator of the ACIIA
®'s Promotions and Marketing Commission and SFAF's Secretary General

Summary of the November 8th meeting of ACIIA®'s Promotions and Marketing Commission in Rio de Janeiro

The PMC meeting in Rio de Janeiro focused on finalising plans for the development of ACIIA® publications and measures to strengthen and promote the CIIA® brand. These plans include an ACIIA® Yearbook and an ACIIA® quarterly newsletter, which will be published in 2003. The SFAF (France) kindly took on the responsibility for developing the newsletter format and design, and the ICFAI (India) generously offered cost prices for printing the ACIIA® yearbook and CIIA® certificates within their society. To promote and develop the CIIA® brand, the cooperation of all societies is crucial.
The CIIA® logo should be displayed whenever appropriate, particularly on training materials. The PMC also discussed implementing a program whereby ACIIA® members assist analysts’ societies in countries to which they have a pre-existing relationship - either politically, culturally, or through language - to participate in the ACIIA®. Through the cooperation and support from an existing ACIIA® member, it is easier to foster the development of the CIIA® program in countries where there is no society that currently offers the examinations.
